The MP3 Experiment + Random Grab Bag

MP3 experiment

You may not have heard of Improv Everywhere, but you’ve probably seen some of this group’s public stunts on YouTube. Remember the one where everyone in Grand Central Terminal froze simultaneously, baffling passersby? Or the immortal Food Court Musical? Wanna see what their latest stunt was?

A few Saturdays ago in NYC, the group staged its sixth annual MP3 Experiment, and it was open to anyone who wanted to play along. And to get a great sense of what it was like, check out David Pogue’s NY Times Tech Blog. He and his soon took part and it sounds very cool. The formula is simple: Gather a random crowd of people…they all push play on their MP3 player at the same time…and from there they just follow the directions! Love the idea of what these people do. And it sounds like there will be a video of the event posted soon.

By the way, Pogue’s Posts (NY TImes Tech Blog) is great. You should check it out on a regular basis. And while you’re at it, here’s some other random cool stuff I’ve run across over the past couple of weeks. Click away!

Here’s one of the best “vacation videos” you’ve ever seen. By the way, Vimeo is a great place to look around. There’s more of a professional feel to a lot of the videos you’ll find. And I don’t think any other site touches it in terms of quality.

Did you hear that Cameron Frye’s fictional house from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” is for sale? It’s the one where they ejected his Dad’s car out the window into the forest below. Here’s that house and a list of other famous movies homes.

And speaking of houses, how about Frank Lloyd Wright’s ‘Fallingwater’….LEGO-style?
