Pure, unadulterated badness.

To some of you guys, this might seem like an old, dorky car. But when I was a young man…there was nothing more I wanted (well, almost nothing) than a Lotus Espirit. I came across this great page from the site, Car Lust. And it breaks down the Lotus Espirit S1/S2 scientifically. If it’s familiar to you, you’ve probably seen this car in a James Bond movie. He drives this one in ‘For Your Eyes Only,’ the first James Bond movie I ever saw. And the most famous Lotus he drove was used in the seven-minute car chase in Sardinia from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ where it turned into a submersible vehicle. After the film’s release, demand was so high for that particular model that there was a three-year waiting list. You should also know that particular Lotus Esprit offered the following deluxe accessory package: periscope; convertible dashboard-control panel; oil release, harpoon and cement guns; retractable turning wheels; hydroplanes; protective louvres; television monitor; rudder and propulsion units; submarine activator; rocket missiles and missile firing control. Well worth the money, I say.

  1. OK, tell me I wasn’t the only one who learn how to say “ESPRIT” from this car.
