Mute Math Q&A.

Couple of things you guys should check out concerning one of my favorite bands out there right now, Mute Math.

First off, you need to check out their performance on ‘The Tonight Show’ last week (1.15.09). Their portion of the show starts at 36:28. They did the “Twilight” soundtrack version of Spotlight. And it’s tight. (By the way, I can’t embed it here since WordPress and Hulu don’t talk to each other. And you will have to sit through a commercial or two. But it’s worth it.)

But if you have seen it, you might have many questions. Who are the extra guys? Is this the new Mute Math? Why doesn’t that one guy have any hair? Why isn’t Roy on the bass? And on an unrelated note, where’s this new album we’ve been hearing about? We now have some answers…courtesy of Roy’s blog. Please read his latest entry immediately. It will soothe your soul.

Also…there’s another piece of news that involves:

As you know, they release additional tracks on a regular basis. And I have to admit…I missed the additions back on January 16th. Take a look and see if there’s anything you recognize:

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of eight new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store, including music from the Steve Miller Band, Godsmack, Belly, Ghost Hounds, Mute Math and Rob Zombie.

They are the usual Rock Band price: $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track; $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for the Steve Miller Band 3-pack. The new tracks will be available on January 20 for the Xbox and January 22 for the PS3.

The full track list is below:

  • Steve Miller Band “Space Cowboy”
  • Steve Miller Band “Take the Money and Run”
  • Steve Miller Band “The Joker”
  • Godsmack “I Stand Alone”
  • Belly “Feed the Tree”
  • Ghost Hounds “Wind Me Up”
  • Mute Math “Typical”
  • Rob Zombie “War Zone”

Sonamighty. I’m considering quitting my job right now so that I can get home and dl that mess and jump up on top of my poorly-designed plastic drum set and smash it all to pieces and stick the microphone into my eye. Please come to my house and join the chaos.
